An Afternoon in Cambridge

One of my best friends and NYC partner-in-crime, Nicole, came to visit back in May. It was our first longer stay visitor and I was excited to show her around! We spent a fun afternoon exploring Cambridge. It's always fun to be a tourist in your own city when friends come to visit and makes you appreciate where you live just a little bit more.

We walked into city center with our first stop at the market.

We picked up fresh, locally grown veggies for dinner that evening...

Did some browsing through the stalls...

And treated ourselves to delicious smoothies!

Next, we walked over to the colleges.

We decided to check out King's College Chapel. I still had never been in and was excited to use my new resident pass.

Beautiful European cathedrals never seem to get old.

King's College grounds...it was a rather windy spring afternoon.

The River Cam along the Backs behind the colleges.

After posting up at a pub for lunch and a pint, it was time for some punting. We opted for the guided tour. It was quite entertaining watching the self-hire punting boats. Some things are best left to the professionals.

A great vantage point - quintessential Cambridge.

Cheers to a lovely afternoon in my own backyard!
